These are the questions we get asked most often, usually late at night, usually by somebody who has found the trip they want and is now working out whether they can actually do this. Nothing here is hidden and nothing here is sales talk. If your question is not below, just ask us.

What does it cost to book, right now?

A R3,000 deposit per person holds your seat. With the uniform 3% online processing that every price on this site carries, that is charged as R3,090. That is the whole commitment on day one. The rest waits.

The price you see on a journey page is the all-in Rand price. There is no card surcharge, no currency surcharge and no booking fee added at the end. The 3% is already inside the number, applied to everyone equally, because a card-only surcharge is not permitted in South Africa.

When is the balance due?

75 days before departure, in Rands, at the exchange rate that was locked the moment you booked. You will get a reminder well before the date. Between your deposit and that day there is genuinely nothing to do except get excited and sort your flights.

WHEN YOUR MONEY IS ACTUALLY DUE 1 The day you book R3,000 per person, seat held 2 75 days before you fly the balance, at the locked rate 3 Departure day nothing left to settle Example: a 1 October departure has its balance due around 18 July. Until then, there is no rush.

Is the exchange rate really locked?

Yes, from the moment you book. If the Rand weakens against the Euro between then and your balance date, that movement is ours to carry, not yours. Your figure does not move. It is the single biggest unknown in paying for an overseas trip, and we take it off your plate.

What if I need to cancel?

We will always tell you this before you pay rather than after. The cancellation terms are firm:

  • More than 75 days before departure: the deposit is forfeited.
  • 75 to 46 days before departure: 75% of the journey is charged.
  • 45 to 31 days before departure: 90% is charged.
  • 30 days or fewer: 100% is charged.

The deposit is not returned in any of those cases, and neither is the 3% processing on it. That is exactly why comprehensive travel insurance from a South African provider belongs on top of every booking, and why we say so before you pay. There is more in what happens if you cannot travel.

Can I change my date instead of cancelling?

Ask us first, always, and as early as you can. A date-move is usually a far better outcome for you than a cancellation, and where the operator can accommodate it we will push hard for it. What we will not do is promise something we cannot guarantee, so tell us the moment you know there is a problem, because early is where the room to move lives.

What is included, and what is not?

Included: your hotels, daily breakfast and a good number of dinners depending on the itinerary, all coach transport along the route, a professional English-speaking guide, and the sightseeing built into the programme. Not included: your international flights, travel insurance, visas, optional excursions and personal spending. The journeys are land-only and begin in a European city, never in South Africa. The full picture is in what is in the price.

How do I pay?

Card online, which is the fast way, or EFT if you would rather move a large balance by transfer. Both are in Rands, into a South African account, and neither costs you more than the other. Ask and we will send banking details and a Rand invoice.

Do I need a visa, and will you help?

Most South African passport holders need a Schengen visa for Europe. We are not a visa agency, but we do give you the booking documents consulates ask for, and our 2026 Schengen visa guide walks through the process step by step. Start it early. It is the one part of the trip that rewards being organised months ahead.

Can I travel on my own?

Plenty of people do, and a guided coach journey is one of the kindest ways to travel solo: you have company at dinner if you want it and your own room if you would rather. The single supplement is the cost of that room to yourself, shown before you pay. See travelling solo on a group journey.

How do I reach a real person?

WhatsApp 082 497 2238, or email gowithme@tour2gether.net. We answer within a business day, Mon to Fri, 8am to 5pm SAST, from Cape Town. If you would rather talk it through before you look at prices at all, start here.
