Section 01

Trust and money

Who exactly am I paying?

Tour2gether (Pty) Ltd, a South African company registered as 2025/645788/07 at 10 Wodin Road, Claremont, Cape Town, 7700. You can look the registration up. The journeys are operated on the ground with Europamundo, one of the largest guided coach operators in the world, and your contract for the trip is with us here in South Africa.

Are your banking details ever going to change?

No. Our banking details never change. If you ever receive an email asking you to pay a different account, do not pay it, however convincing it looks. Call us first on 081 880 1466 and we will confirm. This is the single most common way South African travellers lose money, and it is worth the thirty second phone call every time.

How much is the deposit, and what does it hold?

R3,000 per person, charged as R3,090 with the 3% online processing that applies to every payment we take. That holds your seat on that departure. The balance is due 75 days before you travel, so there is a long, unhurried stretch in between. Bookings made inside 75 days of departure are payable in full at the time of booking.

What happens if I have to cancel?

Our cancellation policy is a fixed ladder, and we would rather you read it now than discover it later. More than 75 days before departure, the R3,000 per person deposit is forfeited. From 75 to 46 days, 75% of the total booking value is charged. From 45 to 31 days, 90%. At 30 days or less, 100%. The deposit and the 3% processing on it are not returned in any of those cases. This is why we push everyone towards comprehensive travel insurance that includes cancellation cover.

What payment methods do you accept?

Card and EFT, all in South African Rand. Every public price already includes the 3% online processing, so it costs the same whichever way you pay. Your exchange rate is fixed at booking, which means the number you agreed to is the number you pay even if the Rand has a bad month afterwards.

What if something goes wrong before I travel?

Tell us early and tell us honestly. Depending on how far out you are and what has happened, there may be room to move you to another departure rather than cancel, and we will always look at that first. What we will not do is pretend the cancellation ladder above does not exist. You will get a straight answer and the actual numbers, in writing.

Section 02

Booking your journey

How do I book?

Find the journey and the departure date you want, and book it online. You will enter each traveller exactly as their travel document reads, pay the deposit, and get a written confirmation by email. If you would rather do it with a person on the line, WhatsApp or call us and we will walk through it with you.

What is included in the price?

Coach transport for the whole route, hotel accommodation every night, an English-speaking Tour Director, breakfast every morning, basic group insurance and a 24 hour emergency line. Lunches, dinners and optional excursions are quoted separately and shown before you pay, never added afterwards.

Are flights included?

No. You arrange your own flights to the city where the journey starts, which usually works out cheaper and lets you use your own miles or add a few days either side. We will tell you exactly where and when to be there, and we are happy to talk through the sensible routings from Johannesburg or Cape Town.

Can I add days before or after?

Yes, and a lot of people do. Tell us what you are thinking when you book and we will make sure your confirmation, your hotel list and your visa paperwork all line up with the dates you are actually in the country.

Section 03

Visas and insurance

Do South Africans need a Schengen visa?

Yes, for most European journeys. Start early: allow 10 to 12 weeks for the whole process. We send you a booking confirmation built for the application, with the hotel list and the day by day itinerary the consulates ask to see. This is the part people leave too late, so we will nudge you about it.

Is travel insurance included?

Basic group cover is included in the journey price. It is not enough on its own. You still need your own comprehensive travel insurance for the visa application and for real life: cancellation, medical, baggage and flight disruption. Given the cancellation ladder above, the cancellation cover is the part that matters most. We can point you to South African providers who do this properly.

What documents do you need from me?

Each traveller name exactly as it appears on their travel document, and a copy of that document page before we can confirm. You can upload it securely during checkout, or acknowledge that you will send it to us, and we will not confirm the booking without one of those. It is stored encrypted and used only for the booking.

Section 04

On the road

What language is the journey guided in?

English. Your Tour Director, your daily briefings and your documents are all in English. GO English departures, available April to October, are an English speaking group from end to end. Some standard departures are bilingual English and Spanish with one Tour Director who handles both, and we always tell you which kind you are booking.

What is a GO English journey?

A guaranteed English only group departure, available April to October. Everyone on the coach is in the same language, which changes the feel of the whole trip: the jokes land, the briefings are quick, and you make friends by day three. They also depart from a single traveller, which makes them the easy answer for anyone going alone.

What is the typical group size?

Coaches carry up to 52 people. Most departures run with 30 to 45 travellers from a mix of countries, all together with one Tour Director for the whole journey. Large enough that there is always someone to sit with, small enough that the Tour Director knows your name.

Are these journeys good for solo travellers?

Very. GO English departures go from a single traveller, and a coach full of people heading the same way is one of the friendliest ways to travel alone. A single room supplement applies, and some departures offer a twin share match. Filter for "Solo Friendly" on the browse page to see them all.

Are these journeys suitable for older travellers?

Yes, and a good share of every coach is South Africans in their 60s and 70s. The pacing is set for a mixed group of active travellers, with a mix of walking and coach time most days. If you have specific mobility needs, tell us before you book and we will point you at the journeys that genuinely suit, not just the ones we would like to sell.

What if there is an emergency while I am away?

Every journey carries a 24 hour emergency number, held by your Tour Director and printed in your pre-departure documents. It is staffed around the clock, including the hours when our Cape Town office is closed. You are never on your own out there.

Still wondering about something?

Ask it. No question about a trip this big is a silly one, and you will get a person who has actually been there rather than a form letter. WhatsApp is fastest, and every message gets a reply within a business day, Monday to Friday.
